Festival of Light

Hi everyone, wow what a fantastic response to last weeks challenge, some amazing entries and such talent! We were blown away with your artwork!

This weeks challenge is more about blowing out than blowing away.
Everyone is so fucussed on Christmas here in blogland that we thought we'd have a look at what people in other countries do at this time of year and it's been wonderful to discover how many Light Festivals take place in so many cultures all over the world. The Christian faith has many forms of light festival in different cultures all based around Advent, but there is also the Jewish festival of Hannuka, the Hindu Diwali, Loi Krathong in Thailand, to name but a very few and most take place around this time of year.

So here's our little contribution to a celebration of light.

We'd love you to have a go at producing a project of any sort with the theme of light. As always this can be interpreted in any way you wish and can celebrate a religious festival or be any other interpretation. We can't wait to see how varied your ideas are

In the meantime here are the shining offerings from the Design Team.

Without further ado it's time to announce the winner of last weeks challenge

And this week the winning number, generated at random is ............................................

Number 23
Heaney

Drop us a mail at TT if you're interested in doing a guest Designer Hot Spot for us.

No Patterned papers

Lovely to see so many interpretations of the handbags and gladrags theme - winner announcement at the end of the post

This week we want to challenge you to make something using no patterned papers - which really means using your own talents to make backgrounds etc using whatever you have to hand - inks, stamps, embossing techniques etc.

As always the team have produced some stunning stuff - and first here is our guest designer Kerstin

Kerstin is a bit of a shy babe so we don't ave a photo of her but here's a little she sent us about herself.

I'm Kerstin a 39 years old housewife from Dortmund in Germany . Designing and creating cards and ATC's is one of my favorite hobbies, which takes a good part of my time. I don't mind whether it's cute or non-cute cards. I chose the Embossing-Techniques on my example card, because i like it very much and fits well to the topic of the Challenge. I hope you like the design example.

Brilliant Kerstin and heres the rest of the team
